Quilt Preparation
Proper preparation of your quilt is important to the look of your finished quilt.
The top must be pressed, threads trimmed, and the edges squared evenly. If you have bias cut edges, please stay stitch the edge to prevent stretching.
Backstitching your border seams prevents them from pulling apart when it is loaded on the machine. Please insure that your borders are the same length (top=bottom, left side=right side) otherwise your quilt will not be squared.
The backing must also be pressed and edges squared. It must be 6” longer than your quilt in both length and width measurements.
Remove selvage if piecing the back. If you don’t want the quilting to be highly visible on the back, choose a fabric color that closely matches the thread color. I cannot guarantee that I can “quilt out” wrinkles or folds.
